History of Babolly

Founded in 2011, Babolly was established with the mission of achieving self-sufficiency in chemical fertilizer production in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. At that time, local farmers were highly dependent on imported fertilizers, leading to increased costs and lower agricultural productivity.

– By launching the first NPK fertilizer production plant in Kurdistan, we set a new standard for local production tailored to the needs of farmers. In Phase One, we achieved a 50,000-ton annual production capacity, covering 20% of Kurdistan’s chemical fertilizer demand. However, this was just the beginning. In Phase Two, we aim to expand our capacity to 250,000 tons per year, ensuring complete market coverage.

– Our journey, however, was not without challenges. Due to regional instability and the ISIS invasion, our factory—located outside the city—was forced to suspend operations for several years. Today, we have returned stronger and more determined than ever, with new strategies to expand our production and continue our mission.
